Who We Are.
The NMF is a visionary student organization that aims to develop and share reliable, open-source software for various purposes and domains. The NMF also strives to create a relaxed and familiar environment where students can learn and practice their skills at their own pace, without pressure or competition. The NMF is run entirely by students from different countries and backgrounds, who collaborate online and support each other.

THE BLOG
So, why did we start a blog? Well, there’s a couple of reasons.
01
We Have Things To Say.
Most people do, really. When asked, many of our members expressed that they would appreciate a public stage where they could express their views, opinions and thoughts. So here we are.
02
Blogs Are Cool.
I don’t think this one needs an explanation.
03
We Have A CMS (for some reason).
The website you are looking at right now is powered by WordPress, like a lot of other blogs. However, a significant portion of the work is offloaded to our own in-house Content Management System (CMS), dubbed Iridium. I started developing Iridium during my freshman year of high school two years ago, and over the next year or so, we hope to develop it into a full CMS independent of WordPress and open source it under the MIT License. The Iridium CMS as of now is proprietary software, and the code has not been released due to major security issues we are currently working to fix. In the meantime, this blog lets us test and experiment with Iridium in a production environment.

We Want To Foster A Community.
With over 50 members, the NMF is a prime example of a group of like-minded people with similar interests and goals. I’m proud to be the founder of a community that has grown to this extent, and think that this is a great way to not only foster communication with the public, but within the community as well.
Wait, what’s a Student Organization?
We’re always looking for more people!
If any of this interests you, or if you have any questions, contact us on the home page. If you’d like to join us, you can also do that on the home page.
Think of it as a high school club, just on a global scale. Anyone from anywhere can join, and there’s no commitment, period. Whether you want to make friends, participate in events, work on projects, ask for help, or anything else in between, I created the NMF to help you do it.
